Renovating an Older Home One Room at a Time

Sometimes in your career you are blessed with the type of client who trusts you implicitly, making it so easy to work with them and to give them exactly what they want. We’ve been blessed with a lot of those clients, and one couple enjoyed the process so much they entrusted us to work through their home with them one beautiful space at a time!

The very first project was a simple update to the master bed and bath. The couple’s beautiful historic home had been done with the deep colors so prevalent in the 90’s and they were definitely craving a fresher, lighter palette. This would be accomplished gradually throughout every room, with some punches of black to ground everything when needed.

The second project was the dining room, and this is where we brought the drama. Covering the walls in a bold, Asian-inspired print, we set the stage for the details. We used Bernhardt’s Jet Set dining table in the space-elegant yet dramatic. The custom upholstered chairs were covered in a micro leopard that nicely showed off the gold handles on the chair backs-shining like a bit of jewelry for each one. The couple had inherited a gorgeous antique mirror from a family member, and knew they wanted it in this room, so we hung it over their stunning new buffet. One of the favorite changes in this space was taking a small awkward closet, gutting it, and adding beautiful black custom cabinets to create the perfect bar area!

Christie Perham Interiors has gone on to do the clients’ kitchen, a family room and a living room, completing all the areas on the first floor. These spaces deserve a blog post of their own, so stay tuned!
