Master Bath Transformation

Hunter Green had been all the decorating rage at one point. Unfortunately, when you see it today it’s a signal that the room needs to be revamped! We got a call from a family whose master bath was next on the list of home renovations. The clients had done an amazing job updating a kitchen and freshening up their living spaces, but the master bath hadn’t been touched and it was not only unpleasant to use but it wasn’t aesthetically pleasing to the clients. It was time for a complete gut and re-do.

The footprint of the space was staying essentially the same, but with the opportunity to expand the very dark and cramped shower, we took it! Some other great changes-the outdated and unused jacuzzi tub was going to be replaced with a clean-lined soaking tub and the traditional swing out door on the water closet with a pocket door for a more streamlined space.

The first element we chose was the wood finish on the cabinets. The kitchen had been remodeled in white and grey, and the husband had specifically requested that there not be white or grey cabinetry in the bathroom, so we kicked off the entire design by choosing a warm, beautiful wood finish.

Those gorgeous cabinets are from Bertch, taking the clients from zero storage to “a place for everything and everything in it’s place!” The tower in between the two sinks is a real workhorse, and it was much more needed than counter space, so definitely the way to go!

The tile choices came next, and it’s always amazing when my customers fall in love with an element that we can then build on. In this case, my adorable client fell in love with both the highly decorative tile we chose to use on the shower wall as an accent and the gorgeous stone geometric tile we used on the floor of the main space.

The bath is on the second floor at the back of the home where there is complete privacy, allowing us to keep the windows uncovered, flooding the space with natural light.

The end restult is a clean, minimalist vibe, yet with tons of warmth and interesting detail.
